VW free servicing offer - can I claim it?

I was filling up with petrol today and notice a VW add on the filler nozzle "All 2013 VWs come with 3 years free servicing, 3 yrs waranty".

My car is a 132 VW - does this mean I shouldn't be paying for my next service!? I'm the second owner ...If anyone knows the details that would be great - I'll give them a call but just though I'd check here first.

    Thanks

Depends whether the benefits transfer to the next owner, sometimes they do sometimes they don't.

There's no mention of it on http://www.volkswagen.ie/en.html so I'd say it's a local promo to shift recent trade-ins - 131 cars that have just been traded in for 161 models. Even if it's a VW Irl promo, I'd say it applies only to 'new' (Jan 2016) sales of 2013 models from VW dealers and is not backdated to all VW 2013 models.

Per the post above, did the ad look like it was three years old???

Yep looked like it was an old 2013 ad.

Old sticker on the pump I'd say. As far as I can remember, 131's were offered with 3 years free servicing from new. I think there was a limit of 3 actual services in this time period, so they may be all used up...

True but OP's car is 132 so with average mileage it might only have had two services - late 14 and 15.

Though you'd expect the original owner to have used a free VW service as a feature when selling which suggests either it was not transferable or has been used.

Call any VW dealer, if it was registered for the 3 year free service pack they can tell you, and tell you if it's still active.

If it's a golf, it wasn't included in the servicing promo as the model was just launched for 2013.
