As the Co-Ordinator of Dundalk Cardiac First Responder group I would really urge anyone to find out if there is a first responder group in your area.
By joining them you will receive free training on CPR and the use of a AED/Defibrillator. You will then be able to attend instances of Choking, Chest pains or Stroke in your local area until the Ambulance arrives. You will be notified by txt of the incident by Ambulance Control on a dedicated phone supplied for your shift.
All responders would be on standby for a shift of about 12 hours or what fitted into your own lifestyle and not expected to do more than 1 shift per week or less dependant on numbers in your group.
Find out today and join, it could be a friends life your helping save.
