hi guys just looking for some ideas for honeymoon in july 2016. Kinda thinking the once in a lifetime thing. We would kinda like a place where you could pick a new restaurant every night, not confined to a compound sorta thing. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated . Thanks

We spent a week in langkawi (it was a compound but an awfully nice one), 3 days in georgetown on penang island (amazing food) and 5 days in the perhentian islands (amazing snorkelling). Booked flights through trailfinders and everything else ourselves. It was rainy season on langkawi, but it only affected a couple of days and our superfancy hotel was affordable between that and ramadan. Wouldnt bother spending time in kuala lumpur though.

We're heading on honeymoon in July this year too. Gonna do the Pacific Highway 1 from San Fran to San Diego. Plan on having 3 fixed stops and gonna wing it on the other nights. Bates Motel anyone?:D

All we need to know is we have to be at X destination by a certain date and stop wherever else takes our fancy in between. Gonna make it a real adventure type thing. Might take in some white water rafting too before we head south from SF.

You got to consider South Africa. You have everything you can get on other honeymoons but with Safari's added on top. Was there a few years ago on holiday and absolutely loved it. And the exchange rate is really good so food and accommodation etc. is pretty cheap

If you are looking for once in a lifetime, I would recommend either Bora Bora or Hawaii. Have been to both, truly unbelievable! Hawaii if you are looking for more to do... And it isn't as expensive there as people say, very similar to Irish prices for food and drink. The hard part is getting there. Enjoy.

Would love to head to Bora Bora myself, do you mind adding some additional information about it? Like how hard is it to get there? Any special websites you used to research it and book?

May I ask what your budget is? I would be happy to give you more information. Just out right now but will give you a detailed response tonight.

Thanks, I don't actually have a budget, we don't plan on going anywhere for awhile after our wedding and wouldn't know what budget we might have at that time, I guess it would be good to know how much it would cost to stay in an all inclusive resort for a week, something mid range maybe?

First off, if you are going to Bora Bora, you have to be willing to spend to enjoy it to it's fullest. It certainly is no budget holiday. We stayed in the Four Seasons Hotel, I have to say it was probably the best experience of my life. The level of service and quality of food, surroundings, bedrooms were mindblowing. The downside is it is around €750 - €900 per night for a double room, I think we paid €800 per night.. You are talking anywhere between €1,800 - €2,500 for a return flight. Depends on the time of the year. All in all, you would want €8,000+ per head to be able to enjoy a visit there.

We had rooms that were right above the water and are filled with such an array of amenities. It is quiet, tranquil, and the scenery and relaxation would simply just blow you away. It is like a dream.

We are looking at a combo of Cancun and New York for our honeymoon as a couple and then following it up with a family break away somewhere in Europe with my son.
Picking the Hotel in Cancun is easier said than done tho.

Hi there, I have friends who stayed in Le Blanc and they have now gone there 4 years in a row and continue to do so. They say it is amazing. Not sure of price!

We spent weeks narrowing down a hotel in Cancun! There was minute differences between them. I think a couple were discarded for stupid reasons like "I don't like their website" because it was so hard to pick.

We went to South Africa on honeymoon in July. Weather was fine. Think in 3 weeks we had 1 or 2 days with rain. The temps were late teens from memory - I remember us going around in t-shirts and the South Africans thinking we were crazy because it was 'so cold'! It was great to go in low season because we were able to stay in some amazing places that otherwise would have been way out of our budget. Would highly recommend! Wasn't a holiday for lying by the beach every day though (although we did get some pool time!) so depends what you want from the trip.

Eep! Id be saving a while for that one. We stayed in the four seasons in langkawi. I booked late and was lucky to get a half board deal. (their currency lost a lot of value round the same time). It was something else. Am dying to stay in one of their resorts again sometime.
