Best way to fix broken laptop screen

I have a HP Pavillion Beats Laptop and the screen was flashing now and then the past few weeks and it finally stopped working yesterday, the computer itself still works but the screen is just black. I currently have it plugged into a monitor with a HDMI cable so I can still use it, I dont fancy sending it away to get it repaired or anything like that tbh. Im wondering is there any sort of slim screen that I could buy to hang over the current screen and plug in through a hdmi port to the laptop as opposed to a big monitor beside it ?

Buy a replacement screen on ebay etc and change it yourself. Plenty of tutorials online for your brand/model laptop.

I wouldnt like to take the chance at that myself tbh, and I just want a quick alternative such as a thin screen to hang over the existing screen that I could connect through a hdmi cable if thats possible ?

Sounds like it needs an inverter. Working on laptops is not difficult if you are any way handy
