Outrage as sports star asks female interviewer out for a drink

Chris Gayle, legendary cricket player, sparked outrage by asking attractive female interviewer Mel McLaughlin out for a drink when being interviewed during a cricket match in Australia. He followed this up by saying 'Don't blush, baby'. The male colleagues of the interviewer in the studio could be heard guffawing and one commented 'Mel McLaughlin with an amorous Chris Gayle as she scuttles off with bright red cheeks' Gayle has apologised and has been fined 7000 dollars. There have been calls for him to be banned from worldwide cricket effectively ending his career. Sinead Kissane in today's Independent says 'Morons like Gayle will always climb out of the woodwork of their private strip club at home and expose their ignorance to the world'. McLaughlin has accepted Gayle's apology.
    1. I think Gayle's remarks were inappropriate and he was right to apologise.
    2. I think the fine and calls for him to be banned are ridiculous as is Sinead Kissane's comment above.
    3. If the roles were reversed and a female sports star asked a male interviewer out for a drink, I don't think there would be any outcry.
    4. All female sports interviewers seem to be attractive
    What do you think?

But on your 3rd point a female star has flirted with a reporter on air! And everyone laughed at it.
Maria Sharapova during the Australian open I think one year.

I'm not sure what outrage is.

I'm not sure anyone asked Sinead out for a drink. She needs a little work on her outrage.
