trying to connect Philips sound bar to TV?

    Hi,trying to connect to a Samsung TV using the hdmi cable with no joy? Any suggestions please. I have gone into the TV sound options and selected, external speaker but no joy.

    Ok I think my Samsung TV doesn't support the arc system so might have to buy a coaxial cable.
