Is No News Good News?

My ex partner accused me of harassment in April 2015. Her complaint, reported to the Gardai, related to non threatening texts that were sent over a 9 month period when I tried to reconcile the relationship. She made the complaint almost 10 months later following one verbal altercation. I was arrested for questioning in Aug 2015 and was told I would find out in about 3 months if the DPP were going to prosecute. I have heard nothing since.

Will I be contacted about their decision or do I need to make enquiries to the arresting Garda?

This has been hanging over me since August but I'm thinking "no news is good news" and am half afraid to ask about it.
