Hi can someone help me with this?

It's part 2, find the area. I got 62.5cm squared and the book got 68cm squared.

    Thanks :D

I've gotten 62.5 too, the back of the book may be wrong (let's hope so anyway)

    I got 68: http://imgur.com/DnE2jkk

Although the diagram's a bit misleading so I understand the confusion!

I thought the entire bottom of the shape was 13, including the triangle on the left, when it's actually 14 . Thanks for your help :pac:

    It's a bit ambiguous though!

Are we to assume the length 7 is parallel to 13?
Are we to assume that from the left hand side of the 13 that it's a perpendicular height up to the 3 line?

or is it the dotted line that's perpendicular?

You got it wrong because the bit that you wrote in is incorrect (the 1cm is meant to be 2cm)

Yeah, because I thought that the entire bottom of the shape was 13cm instead of 14cm
