Streaming on chrome with Windows 10

I recently gave in and upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 when they assured me my laptop was capable. Upgraded and since then any video on chrome or their own "edge" plays for 2-5seconds and then sound stutters before the video freezes, if I pause the video or move the timer - nothing, just frozen picture. I've tried re-installing chrome and turning off/on etc. Just wondered if anyone had a similar problem or solution, or should I just revert to 8 or something.
    Thanks

Are you sure you have all the appropriate drivers installed?

Are you sure you have all the appropriate drivers installed?

Well, I had chrome with working sound and video etc before the upgrade..are there other duties I have to complete that aren't included in the download? All my other programmes and files were kept so assumed everything else would be too?!

There are so many variables that you've not mentioned, and they could all be a factor.

Win 10 may need new drivers for the hardware, the best way to check will be to have a look at the manufacturer site, and check for new drivers, or updated versions for 10. There is also a chance that the BIOS routines may have to be updated for Win 10, even on a very recent machine.

Edge will be up to date, but Chrome may need to be checked to make sure it's the correct version.

The most likely issue is that there are updated windows 10 drivers for the video system, though I am pretty certain that there are some issues with the Windows 10 drivers for USB and Bluetooth, based on the issues I'm seeing here with an Acer Laptop on Win10. and there's no easy way to get that resolved.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

    Thanks,
Not a tech wiz, nor did I claim to be so apologies if I didn't mention any of the variables you've mentioned. As regards drivers I don't even know what they are to be honest, hearing driver made me think hardware as opposed to software so assumed it was the same as before, obviously I'm wrong on that assumption so I'll look into it. As I said in original post I've reinstalled chrome, assuming they have the latest version on their site, this is the latest version. Given my limited knowledge of Windows and drivers etc I think I'll just revert to 8 and wash my hands of it.
    Thanks for replying.

I can say Win 10 has lot of glitches when it comes from upgrading and not fresh install, Better go back to your old OS or if you want 10, uninstall 8 then install 10. But make sure that your laptop is compatible with fresh install Win 10.

Upgrading from one version of Windows to another has always been a gamble. For that reason I always recommend a clean install.
