Cattle are February so assume that sheep are the same. Also can you get paid for both? Need to check if my ag advisor registered me for both groups.

Discussions are ongoing with the Dept, according to our Teagasc advisor when I spoke to him last week.

It could be 1st March or it could be 1st June, he said.

i was with a private consultant the last few years in STAP but he didnt get approved this year. i rang teagasc and they had one place left but now they want me to pay a €145 contract renewal, this on top of the €500 the department is paying. i asked him what it was for and he said theyd do the SFP application next year free (i said i do it online myself) and sent out newsletters. seems a rip off to me

has anyone else been asked for this and have you paid it???

ps i posted this twice, its on the Knowledge transfer discussion group thread as well

I'd check department website and see if any one else in your county is approved other then Teagasc.

I know a few in the group and I'd like to stay in it but it's the extra €145 that's leaving a sour taste

Did anyone else get asked to pay this

Same here. Do my own bps. Also in glas and you had to be a teagasc client for them to ve your planner at the time. Don't know if you have to stay a client though for glas.

That's their annual fee for "consultancy and advice services".

Was with them for the last two years as we're just starting out again in farming. Have rang our advisor plenty times and got useful info here and there but I've since discovered that most of the info I was looking for is freely available on various websites and published leaflets.

It's been handy to have someone professional to ring while we were getting up to speed, but I won't be renewing the annual contract this year. Especially since finding out myself that we're not eligible to join the KT programme (Teagasc knew our situation but never mentioned we'd be ineligible)
