Recently my router has been acting up and so I've been trying to set up a spare Vodafone router that the sister had lying around. I've installed the unbranded firmware and reset the router ok but after connecting the cable from the CPE to the WAN port on the router and setting up my IP, DNS and Gateway I cannot access the internet. The internet light on the front of the router is green but the link light is off. This is on Net1 'fixed wireless access;' network BTW. Has anyone done this before or have some advice for me?

How are you connecting the hg658 to Net1's CPE? What CPE is it btw?
You'll probably just have to set up the hg658 as a switch, LAN port to LAN port, should work that way. It's not going to authenticate a connection as it's designed for DSL.
