Disability Allowance and Work Question

    Hey guys,

So I was offered a job last week and I've been on disability allowance for a year now - I called citizens info and they told me I can earn up to €120 per week without losing any DA payment at all and once I earn over that, the DA starts to decrease, which I had read online anyway. The lady then told me to call the DA section and ask them, so I did.

When I was talking to the lady at the DA dept in Longford, she told me I can earn up to €200 per week without my DA being decreased and then anything over the €200 will be taken into account and DA will be decreased accordingly.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has received information like this?

I mean, that's quite a big difference in earnings.

This is the information from CIC website regarding income from work

    Income from work

You can do rehabilitative work (which includes self-employment) and earn up to €120 per week (after deduction of PRSI, any pension contributions and union dues) without your payment being affected. You must get permission from the Department of Social Protection before you start work.
50% of your earnings between €120 and €350 will not be taken into account in the Disability Allowance means test. Any earnings over €350 are fully assessed in the means test.

Below is the information from www.welfare.ie
as you can see it is identical

The only means tested SW payment that allows you to earn €200 per week with an unchanged rate is State Pension non con
Either you misheard the lady in the DA office or she made a mistake.
€120 is the amount and has been for years.
