Upgrading from an 2006 Mondeo to a 2013 or 2014 model. Just wondering if it is worth waiting for another few weeks - will the impact of the 161 trade ins have an effect of the prices - hopefully downwards?

There seems to be a lot of price fixing on the market - all garages seem to be showing the same selling prices - interesting.....

Not much happening to sh car prices yet. I'm the same as yourself wanting to move from 09 to 131. Cars that I was looking at before Christmas are still the same price.

Takes a while for them to drop back. I think it does be mid Feb anyway before any major decreases can be seen.

I'm going to hold off until February.

True, the price of 131's may drop soon but so will trade in price, in many dealers the trade in price is relative to advertised sale price.

Ignore both the sale price and the trade in price and focus on the cost to change. sale price minus trade in price = cost to change. When comparing similar deals from various dealers this is the only figure that matters and sales person will know your an educated buyer if you only ask them for a "cost to change" rather than the "best price for my car" question that so many people get hung up on.

06 mondeo is worth feck all now or next year. I wouldn't let that be a factor.

Sorry should have said we are not trading-in the 2006 car - cash/credit. Has anyone used the Clonmel based garage that source Mondeos from the UK?

Why don't you import one yourself since you've no trade-in?
