Hi I have moved into a new house, there is a dish on the side of the house and in the house there are two cables. I have attached a photo to show the end.
What box could I get to be able to setup free UK and Irish channels?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

The cables appear to be satellite feeds, presumably for a Sky box. The two feeds allow one to record while you watch the other.
A FreeSat branded box is the easiest straight swap for Sky as it gives a 7day EPG and auto tuning etc. Dearer models also record.
You will not get the Irish (Saorview) channels for free from this satellite. It's possible your existing TV is suitable for Saorview but you will need a conventional aerial for Saorview.
The next option is a Combo (satellite and Saorview) box. Basic ones only give now/next EPG for the satellite channels and limited recording. More advanced Linux based boxes give full 7 day EPG for all channels with advanced recording options, record one while watching another, live pause etc etc. All channels merged into one list etc so only 1 remote. The downside is they need a bit of setting up and maintenance. No problem if you are anyway techie.
There is a rumour of a 'FreeSat' and Saorview box coming but ...

    Great info thank you.

Can u recommend a box for recording, epg and pause function? I'm not to bothered with the Irish channels.

If you don't want/need the Irish channels then a FreeSat box is the best plug and play option

Humax HDR-1100S is only out a couple of months, I'd recommend that...
