Could the wrong gear oil spec cause stiff gears ?

As above since I got my clutch and flywheel changed a couple of months back straight away when I got into it the gearbox felt different. It was no longer smooth and felt rough when changing gears. Most noticable when changing from 1st to 2nd.

The best way to describe it was sort of like I can feel the teeth of the gears grinding of each other.

I bit my tounge about it the first 1000 miles thinking it would go away but nothing.

Im led to believe that Ford boxs are quite specific when it comes to gear oil so maybe the garage used the wrong type ?

Or the synchros are going ? However as said this only occured when I got the clutch & flywheel done so I finding that hard to believe.

My last guess would be whether or not the gear linkage was put back on it correctly ?

Sorry just realised I posted this in the buying section, if a mod could move it, it be much appreciated.
