Late night bird tweeting/singing

Over the last few weeks I've noticed what sounds like 1 bird singing its little heart out but in the very late hours.
Especially during the holidays while I was off my sleeping patterns go to crap pretty quick so I would regularly hear it singing away at 1, 2, 3, 4 in the morning.

I live in Galway city fairly near to a medium sized green area for the last few years but this is the first time I've heard it. I know its normal for birds to start singing early in the morning but I just thought this was a bit odd.
Does anyone know if this is common?

Street lights often cause birds like blackbirds to sing at night.
