    Hi, looking for some advice.

I left my 2008 VW Passet (CR) into a main dealer for a service and diagnostic check as the car was a little sluggish and emissions light was on.

Anyway they came back and said that they needed to install a vacuum repair kit for the turbo. It would cost €420.

Any advice on this or price would be great.

It's a common problem with the CR TDIs. The price is about right for a main dealer but why you are bringing a 2008 car to a main dealer for this kind of work is another discussion. An independent garage would charge about €260 to supply and fit a genuine repair kit.

I know I wouldnt normally bring a 2008 car to a main dealer for a service but I had some credit in the form of a voucher to use so I left it with them.

Thanks a million for the advice.

Main dealer agreed to do it for €330, so not too bad.

I find a lot of main dealers are willing to negotiate on prices to stop you going to independents or up North.
