Hi, Sorry to double post sort of, but would love some opinion on this please from experts out there.

Relating to 3rd Gen Nest and install issues.

    http://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2057544337

Is the only way this will work is to upgrade to 2 zone? Which controls heat and water separately ? Being familiar with Irish installs is my situation unique?

    Thanks

I've heard of that reply being used before. It is used by installers who want to get out of there as fast as possible. If your motorized valves talk to your boiler then they should be able to use the cables at your original thermostat

Thanks for reply - If we remove the analog thermostat and replace with nest, how will the boiler know when to shut off? As there is no on/off switch. Unfortunately I can only go with what they are telling me as my knowledge on it is nil, but if they are correct then it will rule out a lot of Dublin homes which makes me wonder why it hasn't occurred before.

I know this is an old thread but just wondering if there was any final solution to this problem? I'm getting a Nest Gen 3 installed shortly and appear to have the same set up.
