    Hi
I would really appreciate a response. I am thinking of having laser eye surgery with Optilase in Cork. Is there anyone out there who can tell me of their experience with them. For aftercare, surgeon etc. In particular if you got it done some years ago and have you regressed etc

    Many thanks

    Hi Fea,
I'd definitely recommend Optilase, I'm very happy with my experience.

Dr Wayne Crewe Brown is the surgeon in Optilase Dublin clinic that I had. He also operated in their Cork clinic at the time.
I googled him and found he was very experienced.

I found the after care really good. I was very careful to follow the after surgery care instructions (different eye drops) so never had any problems.

My sister had some slight regression and had to get a top up job done on 1 of her eyes 6 months after surgery, they did it with no fuss and she's still happy with them also.

I had my initial consultation and the post surgery follow up checks with one of their ophthalmologists Marie in their Limerick clinic, she works in their Cork branch also.

I was very happy with their aftercare, plenty of post surgery check ups. Marie was very accommodating, scheduling most of my check ups for late on Fridays giving me a chance to get in from work. I rescheduled 1 or 2 appointments at short notice with no bother.

At my 1 year follow up check up they discharged me with "2 lines better than 20-20 vision".
Its now over 3 years since surgery with no issues and I really appreciate not having to mess around with lenses or glasses.

So it's worked out well for me, something I had thought about for years but really had the push to go for it after I saw my younger sisters good experience with Optilase before me.
I was also having serious dry eye problems at the time and wearing contacts was no longer possible.
Some colleagues recommended an optician in Ennistymon, he actually suggested laser surgery to me too, surprised as most opticians I met would never suggest anything outside of what they sell.

I'll send you a PM with referral info you can use for "€100 Off" discount if you wish.
    Best of luck!

I also had the Lasik done by Wayne Crewe Brown in Ely Place, Dublin. Very thorough before, during and after surgery.

1 year later and all good! I also have the Referral discount if anyone needs it. Everyone that has had it done with Optilase can refer as many people for the rest of their lives.
