Probably bit late only asking now but OH has been using one of these for the last few years and loves it.

Its only for the two of us and just a few chips, but the sticker on the lid says 'don't use without lid on' which seems a bit strange as there is plenty of vents at both ends of the lid and even with lid on it produces a fair amount of steam.

The thing though that worries is that some oil spills over the sides and I'm not one bit happy with that. However I cant see how anyone could use one of these without the lid on in an average kitchen unless you wanted to steam clean da place.

Anyone use one of these, and your experience, advice appreciated.

Are you sure it says to use with a lid, as some of the Argos cook works ones say to use without a lid as moisture buildup makes the oil less stable

It clearly says 'keep this lid OFF while cooking and replace it when oil has cooked'

I don't like this type of fryer at all, I can see what your saying re oil becoming unstable.

I think someone will be getting a pressie of an air or actifryer:D

Yes, this is the opposite to what you said in the OP :)

My gut feeling us that it's a poor design (it has vents in the lid after all) and they had to put the warning on afterwards.
