On the 24th of Oct.I booked tickets with Aer Lingus for a total of over 3600 euro.Within 12 hours I cancelled the transaction and was told by an Aer Lingus rep. that as I had cancelled within 24 hours that I'd receive a full refund within 28 days. After 28 days I called again and was told it was 28 working days. After 6 weeks I called again and was told that my refund was being processed .In the meantime I had to pay the 3600 euro c.c bill on Christmas week.So it wasn't a very happy Christmas for me or my family, thanks to A/Lingus.It's now the 5th of Jan. and I still have no refund and am still getting fobbed off on the 'phone.Any suggestions apart from never flying with A/Lingus again.Any advice would be appreciated.

Get in touch with them on Facebook or twitter and they should be a lot quicker in dealing with your refund

Have you emailed them? Always better to have things in writing

Yes I e-mailed them and just got a stock reply that's probably sent to everyone that complains.I called them again today but was fobbed off as usual with all sorts of excuses and of course any supervisor was too busy to talk to me.I have to laugh at the great publicity they generated by getting people home for Christmas while I had to lash out almost 4000 Euro on Christmas week because of them.

They are responsive on Twitter, usually same day.

If nothing happens, start a chargeback with visa. I think you have ninety days to initiate a credit card charge back.

not entirely sure a chargeback would apply in this case.

it may also be due to billing cycles eg. yours and theirs.
