Hey All, I've recently moved to Gort. Trying to suss out if there is a music scene in the South Galway area? I'm aware that the Gallery restaurant hosts sporadic gigs for a Clare based music society. It'd be great to know what's happening, outside of the usual Galway city venues.

Also, I'd love to create a 'Guitar Based' folk music society or group. It was something that was started successfully, were I previously lived; a bunch of musicians would meet up every few weeks, and play stuff they'd written or learned. Is there enough musicians in the area, to develop something similar?

    Cheers!

Not from the area but I'd imagine there'd be a good music scene over in Kinvarra.

    This too shall pass.

Jim McKee plays in Kinvara and Gort the odd time. He's brilliant!
