    Morning All,

I need some advice on who to go to to get professional advice on a back injury.

Background: Started in early Dec with lower back pain and then next day I was throwing a bucket of coal into the stove and felt a v sharp pain in the lower back. Rested for 2 weeks and went back running and did several 10km over the holiday without any issues, Saturday just gone woke up with lower back pain again and then yestersday I was picking up the dogs bowl and when I straigthened up I got the very sharp pain again, sleep was practically impossible last night due to the discomfort of the low level pain.

So, I not looking for medical advice as that would probably get me a warning from the Mods but what professional would be more suitable for this issue. Chiropractor or Physio????

    Thanks

    Bob

Did you have any sort of trauma to the area previously?

My first thoughts would be that this sounds like a soft tissue (muscular) injury in which case I would opt for a Physio / Physical Therapist, someone with a good reputation and you know has experience dealing with injuries in this particular area.

Is pretty good. More knowledgeable than anyone else I have used.

    Tks for the replies,

No previous trauma of the back, I've had issues with my neck before(sorted by Chiropractor) when I would have spent a lot of time over books while studying but no lower back problems.

Physio and start foam rolling. Best of luck with it

Yeah, I'd spend majority of the day at a desk, try to get up every hour for a stretch,

Workspace has gone thru H+S ergo assessment and they're happy
