Bit Lost Regarding Job in Finance

So I'm studying for a degree in a very quantitative subject and it's time for me to decide which career path I want to take in life. I have one remaining opportunity of taking part in a summer internship before graduation.

Graduates from my degree do very well in all sorts of finance related jobs. Although I'm not sure if finance is the area for me, I'd like to take part in a summer internship to see what's out there.

I've done quite a bit of research on actuarial careers and I like many aspects of said field. I've also looked into consulting, investment banking and asset management firms. I'd like to do a master's or study for a professional qualification post graduation as well.

To be honest I just don't know where to start applying. My grades should be good enough for most employers to consider my application, but, as mentioned, I'm pretty undecided where to begin.

Which types of firms out there would give me the best insight into the world of finance and what it entails?

I've been looking at firms both in Ireland as well as in the UK, and would love to emigrate- I realize that the potential to make money is much higher abroad than it is here.

I don't want to do an internship in field X only to realize, after graduation, that my interest actually lies in field Y. Since internships increase the chances of obtaining a graduate job in the same firm, ideally I'd like to intern in a company I'm interested in, and not go through 'milk' rounds upon graduation.

Application deadlines are drawing to a close so any expertise would be fantabulous!

    Any Help?!
