    Hi folks,

we have some construction work that was done to the house finishing up in the new year. Happy with the work so far, just in the process of doing up snags etc.

In terms of the scope of work, most of it was internal, although reasonably extensive. I'll just list here in case anything is relevant

    - New kitchen
    - New heating system
    - New flooring and carpets upstairs and downstairs
    - Chimney breast removed
    - Internal wall upstairs moved to widen bedroom
    - Wall between master en-suite and main bathroom moved to make en-suite bigger. New bathroom in en-suite
    - Partition wall built between kitchen and dining room
    - Some new sockets placed etc.
    - New windows, new front door, new back patio doors
    - Landscaping of garden out the back including new garden shed

In the future, I'm sure we'll have problems, like all home owners. I'd like to try and think of things now I should be asking the guys before we hand over and make final payment. Couple of things come to mind.

    1. Structural certificate for the works internally (removing the chimney breast required a structural engineer on-site) signed off by the structural engineer.
    2. Details of new plumbing. Get a run-down / diagram of all pipes in the boiler room and how the heating system works. What valves control what, what pipes go wher. It's fairly straight-forward, but my experience with heating systems is close to zero as I've rented most of my adult life.
    3. Details of electrical wiring where available - what sockets are hooked up where. Where cables are run. Detailed diagram of what's going on, on the fuse box.
    4. Leave spare paint, spare carpet and spare tiles.

Mostly, this is just to have information in the future if we have lads that need to come in to do work or to have myself in the event I try my hand at something.

Curious if anyone else has any suggestions like this or things we should be thinking about having information wise for the future?
