HIR2 bulb upgrade for 2015 Opel Insignia?

Tried to upgrade the dipped lights on this 2015 Opel Insignia and was expecting to find a H7 bulb. But it appears that from 2013 when this model was facelifted that it is now fitted with something I hadn't seen before: a single single-filament bulb for both dip and main beams of the type HIR2.

The performance of the lights in this car is not good and is crying out for an upgrade but I can't find anything much on the market except direct replacements. I was hoping to find something like X-treme Vision or Nightbreakers which I have so easily fitted to other cars.
Anyone have any experience of this?
