Hi, I am wondering is there anyway to check when cheap flights become available for Canaries? We have 2 kids which are not at school yet and with our jobs we can fly anytime of year so just wondering is there a way to keep track of aerlingus/Ryanair to check if they have any offers on? Or is there specific dates each year they release timetables for flights and that is best time to book?

Just wondering is there some secret I am missing? We go a lot to Lanzarote as airport is right beside beach but not sure if we are getting the value on flight

Sorry if this has been asked before but on mobile and search didn't show up anything

    Thanks

Keep an eye out for the airlines sales, and then it's usually cheapest. I have seen Aer Lingus flights to Lanzarote at €129.99 return per person in the sales for the winter flights, and I've seen Ryanair as low as €100. Prices really don't get any lower than that, it is a 4 hour flight.

You can set a alert on skyscanner to email you when the price drops. That's how I got us cheap flights to Thailand.

Also, if it's a realistic option for you, look at departures from smaller airports like Shannon/Kerry/Knock. I once got Ryanair flights from Kerry for €50 each way, in mid-August, when departures from Dublin were about three times that price. Airport parking is way cheaper too.

Of course it may not be worth the extra time/hassle to you, particularly if you have someone to drop you off at the airport and don't need to drive.

Canaries from Kerry? Also airport parking is certainly not cheaper AFAIK.

But searching around the other airports is a great idea. The main criteria for getting cheap flights is flexibility. Flights from Dublin are more often than not more expensive than flights from ORK/SNN.

I got flights to tenerife last year from knock for €80 each. Booked at Christmas for the last week in April with Ryanair. If knock isn't too far from you it's generally cheaper than Dublin

Return? If so not bad. Knock catches you with the Car Parking but if you can avoid that, €80 + the €10 compulsory departure fee is really a good deal.

Yep return. I stayed at Sunprime coral in las Americas, 7 nights b&b for €400 so whole holiday for 2 of us was €580 (€560 + €20 fee for knock airport) Anyway moral of the story if knock is a feasible option for you check it out. There's great deals to be had if you keep an eye on it.

    Hi there
I have read your post. Yes if you are looking for cheap flights to the Canaries the Aer Lingus summer sale is now on so you can get a great deal. Lanzarote is a great place to go if you have a young family but Gran Canaria is also great for families and so is Tenerife. So I would recommend that you log onto Aer Lingus.com and look up flights to Lanzarote and Ryanair also have a sale so if you are looking for cheap flights I would highly recommend Ryanair.

Thanks for advice, I'm in lanzarote at moment, we paid just over 600 for flights with aerlingus for 2 adults and 2 kids, one child under 2

Got 2 bedroom apartment for 480 for 10 days, apartment is brilliant, got it from donedeal and it is in great location and massive compared to normal package accommodation.

I know skyscanner you can set up but is that not for specific dates?

Just wondering if there is anything to keep an eye out from Ryanair/aerlingus websites to indicate cheap flights might be coming up? Or best to keep an eye out 6 months before or so?

What I normally do is do a quick scan on Ryanair website for 9 months worth of flights to an area to get what is the cheapest possible price outbound and in, this then gives you a benchmark to compare as to what are cheapest flights for period you wish to travel. If you check June, July, August and get cheapest that will give you an idea of when you see a good deal for peak travel time.

    Prices for 1 adult only.

When inputting 2adults 2children it comes out at a slightly higher €73.70pp and then add €10 per adult of a departure fee at NOC.

Great deal none the less, flights to the canaries are usually far more expensive.
