Bridal/bridesmaid hair-minimum charges

Looking to book a hairdresser for my wedding at the end of the year in the Dublin area. It will just be for me and my sister but I've noticed that most hairdressers have a fixed price for doing the bride's hair and 2-3 bridesmaids.

Could anyone recommend someone who maybe charges per bridesmaid (in addition to bridal hair)? I would be looking for them to come to travel to me so I guess there might be a minimum charge for that sort of service. However, it just seems crazy to spend 2-300 for just mine and my sister's hair. Or maybe there is some sort of creative solution that I haven't thought of?!

Pretty sure you can request a price for yourself and x amount of bridesmaids from any hairdresser, the prices quoted on site are often negotiable and also mainly an indicator of cost.
Usually up-styles are around 35 Euro, maybe more depending on complexity, and any cost of travel; if there aren't many of you this could be more as it has to be worth their while take time out to get to you etc, if it's only 1 or 2 people.

Would you have any specific recommendations? Am a bit clueless, have just been going on friends' recommendations and haven't seen anything as reasonable as €35. Thanks

I guess it depends what part of the country you're at and how in demand the person you're booking. I went with Jacqueline's Hair salon in Ballina, she travelled out to us and did my hair, bridesmaid's and my mum's.

Sorry, I just checked our budget and it looks like it was 35 for the trial, we paid 135 for the three of us on the day, including travel. It was still a really good rate I thought and she did a great job.

Your other option would be to travel to a salon that way you avoid travel charges & minimums. It's what I did and it worked well though it does increase the size of the hair/make up hole in your day.

You could also ask some close friends/family if they want to get hair/make-up done by that person- a friend of mine did this a few years ago. We actually went to her house for hair and make-up in the morning.

Beginning to think this might be the best way to go. Going to have a later ceremony than usual so shouldn't be too rushed. Will just have to pray it's not raining/windy or get a very good umbrella!
