Just after discovering that my Great grandfather whom I thought was born in Ireland, was actually born in Liverpool. I have him on both the 1901 & 1911 census here, but there;s a chance he may be on the 1891 UK one.

His name was William Larkin & he was a twin (Brother "William"), Born circa 1882 in Liverpool (or there-a-bouts). His mother's name was Jane, father was Thomas & he would have had a sister "Teresa" who was about 7 at the the time.

It's a long shot I know but appreciate if anyone could help.

    Thanks in advance.

I've tried the UK Census for William or Francis born to Thomas and Jane but no luck I'm afraid.

That's from the England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915 on Ancestry but also freely available at freebmd.org.uk

    EDIT: I should have added it's Jul-Sep 1881.

possible match for William's baptism (Liverpool Catholic baptisms/Liverpool City Council)

    Name: Gulielmus Larkin
    Birth Date: 24 Jun 1881
    Baptism Date: 2 Jul 1881
    Parish: St Peter's Priory (Lancashire)
Parents : Thomas Larkin & Joannae Madden

There's also a twin Francis baptised the same day.

EDIT : there's also a Margaret Larkin baptism with the same parents and same parish on the 13th Oct 1876

Awesome. Brilliant! Love this forum. Thanks so much. Just confirmed the surname Madden with my dad "Yeah... I think that was her name. Hadn't really thought of it before..."

there's a child born to what appears to be the same couple in Dublin in 1872

Bernan Joseph Larkin - Birth Date 10 Nov 1872
Parents : Thomas Larkin & Jane Madden

    https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FGHC-MF2 (familysearch extracted civil births)

and a baptism at St. Mary's Marlborough St.

Yup, that's them. I'm told Thomas died as a child.

    Thanks
