Carpet Grippers nailed into concrete floor

    Hi there,

We're looking to replace the carpet in our new house with laminate flooring. However, the carpet grippers underneath have been nailed into and also glued to the concrete floor. When we try to remove them it's taking lumps out of the concrete.

Is there an easier way to remove these or is it at all possible to leave them there?

Normally just use a wide blade bolster hitting it from the side. The nails will only be quarter of an inch or so in to the floor so more than likely it's the glue that's holding them. Wouldn't worry too much about taking bits of the floor with you theses can be filled later

As said above, get a nice wide bolster and lash a way at them. Don't forget the gloves them things are the work of the devil

A heat gun will melt the glue. Might also blitz the grippers too, which will leave you with just the nails to pull.
