Not strictly a detailing question I know but you guys know your chemicals/materials.
I just replaced the wiper rubbers on my 740Li's blades with original factory rubbers.

I got them from BMW on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005F4D01M?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

A bloody rip off yes but i've had problems with aftermarket ones before.

Have to say they're probably worse than the ones I just took off. They streak a small bit, but more annoyingly they're noisy as hell. They sound like they're rubbing against a completely dry windscreen even when its raining. And they also making a clicking or flapping noise just before moving and when coming to rest.

I've clayed the windscreen, i've cleaned the whole lower section of the screen where they rest, i've wiped the blades down with a microfibre and a small bit of silicone spray (serious amount of black came off them) and nothing has helped.

They're installed correctly, hard to get them wrong. What could be the issue, perhaps they were stored poorly or for a long time? Do the metal inserts have to be bent a certain way to move smoothly?

Raging i've spent guts of €45 on two strips of sh1te rubber.

Buy cheap buy twice! You should have gone for new blades altogether.

The best thing I've ever used to quieten blades is 303 Wiper Blade Treatment pads. Cleancar.ie used sell them but I don't know of anywhere that does now. you could ask Detailing Shed about them as they stock 303 Aerospace Protectant.
