Is Mk5 Jetta the same as Mk5 Golf?

    I have a 2006 VW Jetta, and I found out this morning that the local skangers decided to smash the passenger wing mirror off last night as part of their new years celebrations. I'm trying to find a replacement mirror from a car dismantler's/breakers yard, but can anybody confirm for me if I can also use the mirror from a VW Golf, or can I only use a Jetta mirror? From looking at the pictures online, it looks like my 2006 Jetta is a Mk5, and it also looks similar to the Mk5 Golf, but can anybody confirm this for me, as I can't find any confirmation myself with Google searches.

    As far as I am aware yes you can use them as they are the same. The 05-08 Passat uses those very mirrors too...

    AFAIK the Passat is 90% the same but the baseplate that fits to the door is different.

    Depending on how bad the damage is, you can get separate bits of the mirror on micksgarage.

    I'd try to get the part number from the one you have and then compare it against those listed on the likes of Ebay for a Golf. It's possible with the Jetta being a saloon that the mirror may have been wider.
