I have recently started learning Japanese, and I love the look of some of the Kanji, and I was wondering if any of you have a favourite too!

My name is Seán, and there is no direct kanji translation of ショーン unfortunately, but when I lived there, a teacher tried her best, and very kindly bought me a はんこ with the kanji 諸音 (しょおん) meaning 'origin of sound'. It was very sweet since I'm a musician, and so those kanji hold a special place for me! ^_^

How about yourself? What are your favourite?

Yeah, that can be a little tough at first. :)

Try this and see if it helps.

The important thing is to get the input method sorted first, then you can switch between English and Japanese using a shortcut, or an icon on your task bar in the top right of the screen.

I have done it now, thanks!

My favourite is 骨, because it looks like a little skeleton. :p

Haha! Yes, one of the few that actually seems to represent its general meaning!
