At about €1200, and an officialy stated increase of only 14 bhp, I have read elsewhere that a rolling road showed a larger increase in bhp.

But the forum that detailed that info is no longer operating.

Does anyone know / remember what the real world result was?

N42? Do you mean N47 engine as in 520/525d?

Assuming the BMW warranty has expired you would be better off imo getting it remapped from a good mapper, will cost about €300 or €350. A standard map will get you about 210/220bhp and a bag load more torque. Someone like Martin in Autoremap or Joe Power are well versed in mapping BMWs including the F10.

€1200 is very expensive so such a small increase. If your car is still under BMW warranty then I'd just wait until it expires.

Agree, but apparently the increase is more than what bmw say.
You also get some upgraded hardware.

The BMW kit includes an extra intercooler at the bottom of the bumper. Extra pipes etc.

I know a guy who bought it from local dealer increase is very noticeable apparently.

Well for €1200 I'd definitely be expecting a bit more than just software trickery.
