help me pick a cctv setup

    hi all , i absolutely know nothing about home security systems and was wondering could someone tell or point me in the right direction ?

    basically looking for a good DVR box , and front and back camera to go with it ?

    4x playback speed would be the only downside imo :)
    how much aprox footage would a 1tb box hold does anyone know :) ?

    That system uses H.264 compression, this should help you work out the storage you need:

    brilliant so about 20 days at 1280 x 1024 :) just wondering about the h.264 encoding , can this be played back via a laptop/computer is transferred via a USB stick ?

    It depends on the file format, the 264 is a compression standard, not a file format:
    I had a similar rig to that one and the interface was crap
    the supplied software for download and file viewing was crap

    What is the advantage of a nVR versus a Dvr?
