Used epoxy to secure the radio cage to the trim.

Testing the radio. The adapter to get the steering wheel stalks does not seem to be working as expected, so buttons are not working for now, but they will eventually.

Radio installed and everything back together. Very nice head unit.

Very nice, where did you buy the unit and aftermarket double din trim?

    Owner's supplied everything
    New trim is OEM Honda

Don't like the colour mismatch on the panel, or the general look of it.
Of course the work itself looks spot-on

Small price to pay I suppose to get a great piece of kit far superior to the OEM radio.

Oh of course, bit disappointing that a Honda part doesn't match though. Maybe the dash has some product on it making it look darker.

Does it sound any better, one thing I don't like about my Civic is the sound quality.

Story with the hazard switch, is there dark film or something put on it?

The new trim matches the previous one 100% as far as I know. I thought you were talking about the black frame around the radio itself.
Pictures were taken with 2 different cameras and different lighting throughout the day.

Did not really get the chance to listen to it. The owner could tell you. It should sound better in my experience.

    Hi colm,
    It's my car..
Yes I got the car washed pre Xmas and they used some gloss dash Polish.. Not a big fan of it. I do have a black sticker on the hazard light.. The 2015 civic changed the hazard button to Matt black.. I just prefer the look of it..

I bought the pioneer unit from Amazon Germany.. Expensive but definitely a once off job.

The fascia from my Honda dealer for 100 euro.

Thanks to bmstuff for the neat work.
    Cheers
    Mick

Looks way better than a bright red button anyway ;)

    Does it sound better too?

Was it yourself that retrofitted an electrochroamatic rear view mirror?

I haven't had chance to listen to it properly yet :)

The hazard button decal is available on civinfo from gers decal thread.

The mirror I sourced myself and installed on the mount but was wired by the place that fitted my heated leather seats..

Nice work. Are the stereo buttons on the steering wheel compatible with the new unit?

They will be... Hadn't time to figure out setting the 'radio profile' on the adapter I bought. Instructions weren't very clear.

Also I forgot to get a dab aerial so have to bring car back when I source that

    Thanks

Unit to keep steering wheel controls

    http://www.paser.it/en/p/313/Unico_Dual_Plus_-_Honda_Special_Kit/

    Expensive :(

This also as an OE amplifier cable which is needed for the civics with 'premium' sound system

How does that sound with the floor panel on top of it?

I need a few days to give an honest opinion.. You certainly know it's there! I'm wondering if I should try and cut a few slots out of the panel and try and put a grill of sorts over it.. We were going to fit upright in the boot behind the sears but having it underfloor solves a few issues.. More boot space and don't have to worry about securing the enclosure to stop movement around the boot..

Yeah, I was trying to figure out where I'd put one too. Was thinking under the rear seats but not sure how much space there is when you fold the seats down as the bases drop toward the floor too.
I may be getting something else so prob not gonna do anything for now.
