    Hi,

I'm building a new house and I'm wondering what are peoples thoughts in regards to tiling the kitchen floor before the kitchen cabinets are installed rather than waiting to install the kitchen and then tiling the floor ?

    Thanks

    We tiled before.
Allowed the tiler to just run wall to wall.
The kitchen can come in afterwards.

It also allows you to consider the "no kick plate" design should you want.
We didn't put skirting on the walls where the kitchen would go obviously.

We recently gutted a kitchen & utility & tiled wall to wall before the new kitchen went in, it's the better option IMO

    Wall to wall for sure.

Best to tile before because you just never know, you might just want to move the kitchen or change it not to soon after you've put it in. You might think this sounds silly but my own grandmother changes her kitchen every 2nd year and I've also moved my own once. Best to have the tiles all on floor rather than a big hollow where the kitchen units was.

Seems like a terrible waste to me. How many people actually "move their kitchen" or have room to do so? Buy a few extra boxes of tile and you're good for any changes, imo.

I'd think if you're going to change your kitchen, chances are you're going to want to change your flooring, too.

    Before, no question.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
