Car holding back from acceleration

Hi, wonder if someone could help with possible diagnosis. Mazda 6 04, last couple of days has been noticeably failing to accelerate with its usual power.

Took it on motorway and failed to get passed 80 km in 5th so dropped to 4th and forced it up to 100, there was a rubbing noise and slight feeling through the steering wheel but as I kept going the car freed up somewhat. 4 months ago the car got new calipers and brakes so I don't think its them.

    Any ideas?

I would try and spin the wheel by hand and see if there's any resistance, such as a sticking caliper or a high spot on a brake disc.

Feel the alloys after driving. If one is much hotter than the others then caliper there is sticking. Alloys will never normally be too hot to touch.
You would always feel it if it's the caliper.

Hesitation under acceleration can be many things but start with these
    * check hoses for cracks, especially air intake hose
    * check and clean MAF, maybe give throttle body a go too
    * reset ECU by disconnecting battery 30 mins (you may need radio code to get radio to work again).
