Text message about overdue bills despite direct debit

    Hi there,

I am receiving text messages advising me of overdue bills even though I have a direct debit set up. My last debit was Dec 10th (I can see this in my bank account statement) but I received another over due text this morning.

Can I PM my account info to get this sorted?

    Thank you,
    Laura

To be honest the response here from IW is not good enough, How could customers receive these texts when paying by DD.

The standard response here seems to request customer details and (hopefully) never have to give a proper explanation

Same problem! And I'm pretty sure the direct debit has gone through. Plus the bill says unmetered tariff type and I know a meter was installed months ago. Plus when I log in to my account online I cannot make sense of what was paid, what is due (if anything)... Anyone from IW care to clarify, please?

I wrote and emailed and phoned Irish Water.  I still get the text messages but have had no reply in spite of the 5 working day promise on their website.

Apologies for the thread bump. Just wanted to report back as I called Irish Water to indicate that I was moving accommodation. I did not have my account number to hand so the agent used my name to look up my information. It turns out that there were two entries in my name, one of which was incorrect and generating all the late payment text messages.

Maybe for anyone having the same issue, ask if there are duplicate addresses for your name that could be generating late payment texts.

I hope the matter has been rectified for you via phone. However, if this is not the case please let us know and we will be more than happy to investigate this on your behalf.

    Thanks,
