I was in a yard this morning buying a couple of bulls, and he had a tub feeder that could also be used as a straw chopper/blower. Nice tool, he has it 7 years with no problems. All that was ever done to it was to fit a new set of knives.

Saw an old Keenan going the road today and it was TINY. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, didn't even know they made them that small. It was about half the length of a small side discharge muck spreader. I thought it was a right job.

Can you get mixers with an engine on the drawbar so you don't need a second tractor?

But you would still need to tow it around anyway, would a small tractor not do the job for you

I don't like having unnecessary machinery. Then again, how necessary is a feeder? Is it essential when feeding meal, straw and beet?

You can get an electric feeder that is really small and you drive it around yourself, looks unreal

Google selfdrive Keenan . They're powered by a 80 hour john Deere engine.

Well if you want to get the cattle to eat a good ration I'd say its pretty necessary plus it stops cattle being bullied off the meal and beet to a certain extent
