the hard drive on my VU+ duo has suddenly stopped working, it's been working fine for over a year but when I went to record today it gave an error message "no HDD found or HDD not installed".
I've tried to do a filesystem check and I get error message "unable to complete filesystem check. error: fsck failed"
And finally I've tried to initialise the hard drive and get error message "unable to initialise hard drive. error: creating partition failed.
Any idea what could be the problem?

If you connect the drive to a PC what happens?

I will try that if I get a chance to remove it tomorrow. Thanks.

Yeah it turns out the hard drive was faulty, swapped it over and I'm back to normal now.
