    Hi

I am trying to source a pair of rear brake callipers for a 2007 GP 1.4 16V Sporting.

Can anyone confirm if the callipers are specific to that model or are they more generic? Car is off the road and main dealers / parts suppliers shut till new year so trying to find them at a breakers and do not want to get the wrong item.

Also if anyone has a rough idea of cost either new or second hand it would be useful.

    Many thanks.

There is probably interchangeability with the panda 100hp and probably the Opel Corsa. Have a look on the likes of micksgarage and compare part numbers.

Not much in buying used ones as they mightn't be much better than what's coming off. Also availability used would be limited, most GPs here have rear drum brakes.

Best option is reconditioned, which is what most stuff advertised is.

I saw well priced rear calipers on a uk site a few weeks ago but can't remember the name of it, it has sister sites for Germany and France IIRC.

Thanks for the info. Having rung a few breakers this morning it does seem like they are not too common. I am starting to think that for the sake of a few days I may as well wait and get it done properly.

Partfinder.ie can show you what breakers have sportings in stock. But as before. You'd be better off getting recon calipers.

Thanks again. Can you recommend a good supplier of recon parts? The mechanic I use has been quoted about €200.00 per side (they have said they may find cheaper) and Europarts are listing about £100.00 per side but not sure if these are recon parts.

It is going to cost me no matter what but it is getting pricey on an '07 vehicle.

    try micksgarage and misterauto

I think it was onlinecarparts.co.UK I saw the one I was looking for on. even if you don't return the old one (this is the norm) of worked out less than buy-in in ireland

that said I just did a quick search on it and they don't have anything cheap for your car that I can see

Are you certain the calipers are at fault. Handbrake cable on these tend to seize, giving the impression that the calipers are seized. Regardless, they are not used on any other model Fiat apart from Punto Grande.
