Why can't RTE allow their presenters to work on other channels like they do in the UK?
Darcy left and was never let near the place, now he's back no doubt he won't be allowed work elsewhere. Or why don't they hire a major talent like Pat Kenny to do some TV work?

It's clearly a case with RTE that you're either in that cosy tent or you're the enemy. Poor old Marty Whelan is probably still getting daggers from his Century FM move.

They don't share contracted staff in the UK either. Only free lancers appear on different channels.

Are you not risking a ban by not using your dedicated Questions thread?

Probably because the type of talent they have on Rte doesn't appeal to any station that isn't Rte!

With radio, Tubs has filled in for some presenters on the BBC stations. As regards television, here's hoping he never ends up on the BBC there. Are the presenters on RTE decent enough for the likes of the BBC?

Arent most RTE "presenters" contractors hired in, rather than payrolled/salaried? Or am I completely wrong?

If they are contractors, surely they can work wherever they choose.
