the rear window demister in my vw golf mk4 2001 isnt working. Power is getting to the connector on the edge of the window but none of the lines are working. Any reasons why ?

Loose connection or no ground or switch failure or relay failure or maybe a few other things I've in mind at the moment.

2 things - unplug both wires from rear window and:

    1. connect demister directly to a battery

    2. connect them unplugged wires to a bulb (not a multimeter etc) and switch demister on.

That'd give an idea where to start.

The wire in the flexible conduit linking the hatch back door to the main car was snapped in two (when you look at the boot its on the top right) . Fixed by connecting a connector to both ends and getting a new wire inbetween.
