Just moved to Killaloe and find my Meteor dongle is next to useless here, very patchy connection with full bars on 2G. Can anyone tell me if 3 or vodafone are better? (Can't get fixed line broadband.)

I get about 9.5Mbps/2.5Mbps on Three 3G, while indoors. I'm on the top floor and only about 700m from the mast behind the Garda station, though, so YMMV. Also no real idea how reliable it is as I'm always using my fixed line wifi at home anyway.

Are you well outside of town or something? Killaloe and Ballina proper are fairly well covered by Eir's Fibre-to-the-Cabinet service. I get a solid 96Mbps down/20Mbps up with Eir at my location. If you're more than a mile or so from town, that probably won't be an option for you, though. :-/
