Am I right to be angry or am I being childish?

My best friend (of over 20 years) and I were discussing the other night where to go tonight and who would go etc. Today he rings me with a drama between other friends of his and I asked him what plans were for tonight and he said HE was going to X at 7 and that was it. He called later with another update on the drama and then cuts me off to answer the other friend. I rang him back after no answer I then get a snapchat to say "just in X pub". I rang him twice since and text him who was there and how ling were they staying there because I was only out of the shower but no answer or reply but plenty of snapchat stories of him and the friends he was bitching about earlier with the big drama.

Am I being silly or have I right to be angry? I know the other friends he is with but don't talk to them that much and he knows I'm not the type to just walk in to a pub looking back for them without telling them I'm on the way. I feel so excluded and not wanted. Would anyone else feel This way?

But sure he told you were he was? He's not ignoring you. Get dressed and get ready and go and meet him.

He just sent one snap chat but didn't answer my calls or texts since that and that was 3 hours ago

Errrmm ... go to the pub that he told you he's in?

Yes you're being childish! It's St Stephens Night, he's out having fun and probably looking forward to seeing you, he's not going to be glued to his phone when he's in the pub!

You're being very possessive of your friend, are you not? Your nose is out of joint because he decided to change his plans and go out with other people. There's an awful lot of "me me me" about this. You obviously don't want to go out to the pub and hang around with people you don't know. But you're also not wanting your friend to go out. Maybe it's something as simple as him wanting a night out on the town. Even with people he might not be mad about.

I'd be annoyed too. The friend is out and not letting OP know his plans.
OP wanted to know where they are as he is not ready to out yet and is not comfortable going into packed pub without verifying where the gang are. Friend is clearly on phone posting how good a night he is having but couldn't be arsed answering to his old friend.
Go out anyway and use them, you can still have a good night.

Not at all I don't care where he goes I want to go with them hence why I am ringing him to sort arrangements but he won't answer me.

Thanks for understanding. He won't answer he's only texting, he said he's in pub X but keeps changing his mind on where he's going after, it sounds silly but I'd like to know where exactly so I can make plans for coming home.. I don't want to be standed somewhere. Don't know if I can be bothered now to be honest

Maybe he can't hear the phone where he is?

So he wants to go out for a few and see where the night takes them? I don't see the issue. Go out have a pint if he they decide to go somewhere you don't like. They'll either change the pub or you will bid them a good night

I have a bit of sympathy here, I have a friend like this. She lives 5 minutes from town but I'm half an hour drive away so if I trek into town and then they decide they're heading home or somewhere I don't want to go I'm stung for a 30 quid taxi home having been out for 10 minutes, which is annoying.

On the other hand you could miss out on a good night out if you don't go, the fear of missing out is huge!
