    Hello,

I'm wondering does anyone know of a company or person (around Dublin area) who can refurb an AC compressor (Skoda Octavia 2007 1.6 petrol)

There is a "humming" noise. Mechanic says the clutch pack is making noise when it engages. The compressor oil was replaced and the unit re-gased.

    Any advice?

Get a set of gauges on the low and high pressure sides of system, energise ac and see if pressure drops/rises, a serious leak on system would mean it's out of gas again. I'd imagine if the compressor was seized you'd see it in a dip in power, but i'm not sure, if it is gone either a specialist car ac company or transport refrigeration company could replace it, or main dealer.

Reconditioned air con compressors are readily available on an exchange basis. Try your local motor factor.

If they can't help then either of the following certainly can and are both in your area:

The system was regased 18 months ago, when the mechanic went to check the gas a few weeks ago, it needed very little gas. If that helps
