Which 4k Monitor?

I'm stuck deciding between both of these monitors:
    Samsung U28E590D and LG 27UM67.
    I have a GH4 and an S6 so I would like a 4k monitor.
I think the Samsung one is only out this month. I can pick that one up in a store while I'm in Germany.
Its TN vs the LG's IPS.
I've found one site gave the Samsung their recommended 4k monitor of this year but the LG was a lot dearer when they reviewed it. They are both about 480 each.

Very little point in 4K resolution at those monitor sizes, a high refresh 1440p would be a better choice IMO.

If you're set on the idea of 4K, this baby is the kind of size you would want to look at to get the full benefit (currently running it as a secondary monitor/TV and it does the job nicely).

4k would be for light editing.
I was considering this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/iiyama-prolite-x4071uhsu-b1-40-3840x2160-va-4k-60hz-widescreen-led-monitor-black-mo-130-iy.html which gets better reviews than the philips.
Problem is I would like to use two other monitors with it.

That looks like a good option actually, comes with HDMI 2.0 which the Philips doesn't. Multiple monitors shouldn't be a problem as long as your GPU has enough output ports.

4K is great for editing, but unless you have dual 390's or 970's, a 980Ti or similar, it's not great for gaming. I have a 980Ti and I ended up selling my 4K and getting a 1440P, as gaming performance was disappointing.

I think the 40" 4k option is my most likely option after looking at more info on Screens. I have one 290x in my rig and a spare one in my wardrobe so can run CF. If it impacted performance too much, I would just pick up a GTX 980ti. I'm hoping to wait for the next round before upgrading though.

Another option that I would like is the Acer 27" 1440p 144hz Freesync monitor. The only problem is quality control issues.
So now its either the Acer 27" 1440p 144hz Freesync (This would be the monitor of choice if I could guarantee a perfect example, could then eventually get three when QC is better)

or the Iiyama 40" 4k VA 60hz screen

    Edit:
I just chanced my arm and offered the Amazon seller to pay a fee to cover the cost of getting a good (pixel perfect/low back light) version of the monitor to save posting a crappy one back. If he accepts I will buy that.

I seen one of these on adverts and did lots of research on it. This is what got me to look into 1440p/144hz monitors. Its seems a brilliant monitor with only lacking IPS/VA.
I would prefer to pay the extra though for editing since its available for affectively an IPS version of it.

Yes couldn't justify paying the extra for IPS/VA as this PC was only going to be used as a gaming PC.

Also I have never seen TN of this quality (older cheaper yes) side by side with a IPS/VA so not sure that my untrained eye would see a difference worth paying for.

I decided to chance my arm and ordered: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-XF270HU-Black-Ultra-Matt/dp/B017STCKU8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451399182&sr=8-1&keywords=XF270HU

If its poor quality, I will return it and replace it with the monitor you suggested.

I will look to get another 2 1440p screens but will wait until I have a gpu, good enough to power them all

Monitor order was cancelled because Amazon believed someone else used my account for the order  (I'm in Germany with the in-laws).
Now I'm doubting whether I should re-order it or get something else. Have the feeling it happened for me to get something else :P

    Edit:
I'm not complaining about what Amazon did, it just shows they are on the ball with that kind of stuff :)
