My daughter has just passed her test but my son is learning at the moment so I was wondering if anyone has come across L and N plates that are easily changed over? As far as I know you can only have the plates applicable to the driver on the car, not both.

I've seen plenty of cars with both, I even have it on mine. I've gone through Garda check points and been fine.

You would be best getting the magnetic type ones.

It is silly displaying both and I am shocked with the amount of cars with both fitted and also the space they take up on windscreen or rear window is a distraction/obstructs drivers view.

I agree that having two sets up is blocking more of the front and rear windows, but having to swap plates a few times a week is going to be a pain in the ar&e so I'm tempted to fit both (carefully) and leave them up. I wish someone would develop an LED based set where you could set them to 'L' or 'N' at the push of a button.

I think if I get the magnet ones, I'll fix with double sided tape a couple of metallic strips inside the front and rear screens and swap as required.
