I have a limousine heifer coming up for calfing. She is out of a shorthorn Simmental cow and ERE bull. I bought her in a couple of months back, she is calfing down in a couple of weeks. She is a cracking looking heifer. I checked out the bull Ere on icbf he got has got some really bad stats. Does anyone have any cows out of him, has he any milk she is show reasonable signs. Are they good cows to calf, mine has great shape and width

ERE has bad figures mainly due to being hard calving and daughters having poor milk figures. Since yours is out of a shorthorn I doubt if milk will be a problem. His daughters have good maternal calving figures so should be fine for that too.

Thanks that what I was thinking to. The worst calfing figures I see for a while as long it does not through back to the bull I think I will fine

Had just 1 ere heifer culled her after 1st calf due to poor thrive of calf. Was so bad we gave him the snip and now use him as a teaser . At least he's making himself useful . But then 1 swallow never made a summer, best of luck with her!
